Romans 12:1-2 The world wants to conform you to itself. It never sleeps. Never rests. Every moment of your life, whether you’re awake or dreaming, the world is trying to bend you, twist you and distort you into something unholy. Ungodly. Something ugly. May God give us the courage to resist the world and truly do His will as we are transformed and renewed into the people He has called us to be.

Our job is to eat and drink with sinners like us. Not only so they can come to know the hope that we’ve found in Jesus—but also because it’s part of how God is changing us into the people Jesus is calling us to be. We’re not gonna become the people God wants us to be in isolation—we gotta do this in community.

We can’t survive without something to believe in. We can’t live without hope, and we can’t create our own meaning, our own thing to hope in, to live for—our hope can’t be in something that can be taken away. Psalm 90
