Today we will consider "Where is God?" and compare the COVID-19 crisis to the worst zombie apocalypse ever. We'll even talk a little about the actual apocalypse and "Revelations." Eden, the Tree of Life and the Tree of death. God always locates His gifts somewhere in particular, and tells us where that is.

Holy is a word that gets a bad rap. We hear “God is holy” and we think that means He’s uptight. Stern. But “Holy” is a beautiful word... a word that’s full of hope and life and grace. God blessed the 7th day and called it holy, He has done the same to you. God's holiness is contagious.

There seems to be two kinds of people in how we react to the Coronavirus. Those who panic, and those who are angry.

How about if you take a little break from scrolling through your bad news feed and confirmation bias hunting, and listen to this message about what it’s supposed to mean to be a Christian—a person of faith—in these uncertain and confusing days of panic and anger.

More mind bending insights from the beginning of the Bible. What is the power of the Gospel? You’ve been given the same authority to go around saying, “Repent. Believe. Follow Jesus. Your sins are forgiven.”

“Trinity, Water & Light” sounds like a utilities power company. Trinity, Water, Light & Power. I think that’s right, because that’s what I’m talking about, power. LET THERE BE LIGHT!

How are Christians supposed to read the Scriptures? The NT is a divinely inspired commentary on the OT. It all point to Jesus—not us. What is the earliest reference to Jesus Christ in the Bible? You might need your mind blown pants for this one.

Everybody's always asking for prayer and saying they'll pray for each other. What's the point? Isn't God going to do what He's going to do anyway? Doesn't He already know what's best for us? Even if we do pray—what if we're doing it wrong? People always say "you best be careful what you pray for." What can we learn from Jesus about prayer? That seems like a good question to me.

Where we've been, where we're going, NewChurch Pub—and a lesson on how God's perfect timing is always at the last possible second. He really seems to have a flare for the dramatic.

Our culture is very confused about what marriage is, when to get married, who can be married, and all kinds of things concerning that whole "one flesh" thing. How about if we take a serious look at what God has told us to find the answers.

The kingdom of heaven is not supposed to be like a country club for members only, with mediocre music and boring TED talks. The kingdom of heaven is like a garden that God planted in the world to feed and delight His children, His Word—the Bible—is like seeds that grow in the hearts and lives of those who listen.

The Bible is the lens that we must look through in order to understand the world around us—life, meaning, hope, and truth. But what lens can we use to understand the Bible? Let God be true but every man a liar.

People think they know what the Bible says. Most don't. Here's a quick overview of the Bible to prepare you for reading through it cover to cover. The Bible isn’t going to do us any good unless we open it. You can find the Bible reading plan at NewChurchTX.com/Bible. A plan called “Bible in a Year.” Use your app, set reminders, keep up with it.

The Freedom of Duty and The Kingdom of God Redux.

We are the Church.
I am the Church.
We are the Body of Christ.
I am the Body of Christ.
If I don't do my part in the Church, I work against Christ.
If we don't do our part in the Church, we work against Christ.
I am responsible to love the Lord with all my mind.
If I love Jesus I will do what He says.
If we love Jesus we will do what He says.
If I do what Jesus says, I will be free.
I we do what Jesus says, we will be free.
The Bible speaks to everything.
I am made like Jesus by His Word.
We are made like Jesus by His Word.

"Why doesn't God heal me?" What's a pastor supposed to say in response to this question? Especially when it's asked by a 29 year old with brain cancer. What has God promised us, and what hasn't He promised us?

Funeral message for Tim Prasatik, hope for us all.

What's the point of all this? The church. Our church. The idea is that we would come together to grow in our faith, to be transformed into the people that God has called us to be. To receive His grace and forgiveness—so we can be renewed and strengthened before we go back out there do the mission, the work, that He’s called us to do. What we do in here prepares us for what God is calling us to do out there.

I’m asking all of us to make three NewChurch resolutions. 1. To pray everyday out loud, 2. to read the Bible cover to cover this year, and 3. to dedicate ourselves to encouraging the people in our church family.

You're never too young or too old to be faithful to God and do the most important thing you'll ever do. This is a message for the young, to encourage them in the calling Jesus has for them. It's also a message for the old, because it's important to finish strong.

It's also a message that looks under the hood of how Pastor Frank writes a sermon. You don't want to miss this one!

Why does Santa give presents at Christmas? Did you know that Santa once hit a heretic in the face defending Jesus' divine honor? Some people get Santa and God confused, so this sermon sets out to clear up any confusion. It's an important message—it's also a lot of fun.

The way Americans celebrate Christmas is a pretty good picture of the Gospel in action. Because it's not enough to simply have faith, we also have to be faithful. We have to actually do something with it—it's not the thought that counts. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. We have to actually sing the song. Not just listen to it. Not just hear it. Not just learn it. The Gospel according to Buddy the Elf.

What can we learn about the the Gospel from The Grinch? Quite a few important things actually. Christmas is about new life coming into the world and changing us from the outside in. We need to stop and gather heart to heart and hand in hand to celebrate what God has done for us in Christmas. In Christ.

Even the secular, commercialized Christmas industrial beast points us to the Gospel of Jesus Christ—if we just look really close. For example, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer has quite a lot to say about Jesus. God has chosen you to do something that only you can do in this world. Never believe your part isn’t significant. The way we use our spiritual gifts to love each other, serve the world, do our vocation, has lasting eternal value. Even if you have a radioactive nose.

Whatever we’re not thankful for, we’re at risk of losing. And when we’re not properly thankful for the things God gives us, we’re gonna grow discontent, and it’ll ruin what we have. Everything good flows from being thankful.

Spiritual warfare. How many different kinds of demons are there? How dangerous are they? Kemper talks about the reality of such creatures and what we, as the body of Christ, can do about them.

We’re the body of Christ, Christ and the church are one, and this is how Jesus—if He was a wife, or a husband, or a father, or a child, or a slave, or a master—this is how He would treat people. It’s how He wants us to treat each other.

We are to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Love each other out of reverence for Christ. That’s what it means to be a “Christian.”
Wives are to submit to their husbands.
Husbands are to love their wives sacrificially.
Children are to obey their parents.
Fathers are to discipline their children without making them angry.
Slaves are to obey and respect their masters.
And masters are to treat their slaves the way God treats us, without partiality.

Healthy relationships submit, love doesn’t dominate.

A study of Ephesians. If we want a healthy body we have to:
1.Eat healthy.
2.Get regular exercise.
3.Lose weight if you're overweight.
4.Protect your skin.
5.Practice safe sex.
6.Don't smoke or use tobacco.
7.Limit how much alcohol you drink.

Pastor Frank talks about the connection between doing the things that promote health in our physical bodies and how they relate to our spiritual health as the body of Christ.

Final installment of the Philippians series. Work out your salvation because it’s God who worked it in you, so that you could do good things that please Him. Faith is always faith in action. Pastor Frank talks about the hardest thing about planting a church. This is also a thank you sermon and love letter to the NewChurch congregation.
