The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is made up of a lot of people who have trouble getting along sometimes. This message is a little about the red vs blue Christians and the one hope we all have in One Lord.
The Nicene Creed mentions heaven three times. Where is heaven? What is heaven?
Who for us men and for our salvation. Why would Jesus let you into heaven? In this message we will explore this question as we continue our study of the Nicene Creed.
Talking about Angels and Demons—and what they have to do with our day to day struggles and fears.
A look at how important it is to believe in the unshakeable, something that won’t fail us—the faith that’s been passed down to us through the Word of God and summarized in the Nicene Creed—how it’s not only vital that we affirm our faith but that we confess the things that we believe out loud. Confess, Believe, Love God, Do Stuff.
If you read the Bible from beginning to end, you might be surprised to find out that there is hardly any effort spent trying to prove God exists. There isn’t anyone in the Bible who doesn’t believe there’s a God—not one person. There are plenty of people who worship God the wrong way, or worship the wrong god entirely—but there are no atheists. The wisdom literature talks about “fools” who live their lives and act like there’s no God—and the world has always been filled with fools—but the Word of God doesn’t spend any time trying to convince them that there’s a God. It gets right to the point—Genesis Chapter one, verse one: In the beginning GOD. The Bible starts at the same place we all do: Everyone knows in their heart that God exists. So, the question is, “Who is God? What is God? And what does it have to do with us?”
Why do you go to church? The answer to that question will probably determine more about the quality of your worship experience than anything else. The reasons you go to church will have more impact on your spiritual growth, happiness, joy, and overall satisfaction with your church than the preacher, the music, the architecture, the liturgy, the people or the comfort of the seating. Combined!
We live in a pornographic, sex-crazed culture—who would deny it? What should be the Christian response? How are we supposed to deal with all the temptation and with all the popular opinions about what is normal and acceptable?
