From now on you will catch people alive. You will be fishers of men. This is about speaking Jesus' word of grace—the Gospel—and rescuing people from mindlessly swimming in the darkness of their life.

This is what people who follow Jesus are supposed to be doing. Fishing for more followers of Jesus.

1. You have to go to where the fish are.
2. You have to use the right bait or hook or net.
3. You have to be willing to fish the same spot again and again.

Don't be afraid.

A typical day in the life of Jesus the Messiah. Heal a few, cast out a few, teach the Scriptures, make some friends, make some enemies. What if I told you that we were supposed to keep it going—do the same things He did. He gave us His authority. He promised to be with us. What are you doing with it?

Do you remember what it was like to go home for the first time as an adult?
Jesus went back to Nazareth for homecoming, and it didn't go so well.
They were too familiar with Him to recognize who He is.
(Maybe we have the same problem?)

Have you ever been tempted to worship the devil?
There are two kinds of temptation—one is a sin and one isn't.
When you are tempted, what's the most important thing to remember?

Jesus was tempted to doubt what God had promised Him, tempted to doubt who He is. You will be too.

“So you people are thanking your invisible, magic friend because he forgives you of sins that don’t actually exist? Good luck with that, whack jobs!”

Salvation doesn’t make any sense unless you know what you’re being saved from. The world is broken. All our relationships are fragile. We all struggle with hopelessness and meaninglessness. People are divided. We can't trust anyone. Everyone is either selling something, has an angle—an ax to grind or an agenda.

The things we talked about in here today are the solution to all of this.

Do you believe in God? What difference does it make?
What good is baptism without faithfulness?
Did Jesus talk about Hell? I thought this was about John the Baptist!?

Have you ever felt like you searched and searched for Jesus but He was just nowhere to be found?
Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, nothing works out? You fail everyone and fail yourself?
Look no further, this is what you're looking for.

The day Mary and Joseph lost Jesus (and found comfort).

Have you ever said, "Okay, I can die now!"
Do you know anyone who you would say was righteous and devout? (Would anyone say that about you?)
This is the story of Simeon, Anna, and Baby Jesus who was still sore from His circumcision—and pretty much everything we know about His childhood.

The birth of John the Baptist. Salvation is the forgiveness of sins—which means sin exists. Also, faith without faithfulness is nothing. God doesn't steer parked cars.

“My goodness, girl! It is such an honor to meet you! We’ve been waiting since the Garden of Eden for this—of all the women who have ever lived, or will ever live, you're the one He chose to be His mother.”

Are you feeling it? This is quite a moment.

An overview of the Book of Nehemiah. He was a manly man with God's heart. What happens when you read and understand the Bible? One thing is you realize how much of a turkey you are. That you live as though there is no God—as though YOU are God. That you’re selfish, unfaithful, unkind, unforgiving, lazy when it comes to prayer and worship. But don’t just mourn over your failure but rejoice because God has shown you kindness. The joy of the Lord is your strength—what gives God joy will be strength to His people.

When we disobey God we make a mess out of our lives. Then sometimes we make a bigger mess trying to clean up the first one. Sin always leads to pain.

This is the strange part of Daniel (7-12) where it gets absolutely apocalyptic. Pastor Frank helps make sense out of the symbolic cryptic passages—dealing with the Last Days, End Times, Antichrist, and the end of the world. Come on! It'll be fun. He promises to not scare the bajeebers out of you.

How are people of faith supposed to deal with all the outside pressure to compromise what we believe? How does God expect us to handle the constant bombardment of bad news, sickness, frustration, suffering, evil, and pain? What’s the point of being a Christian if all this bad stuff is going to happen to us anyway?

The Book of Daniel has answers.

The most psychedelic, strange, performance-art prophet in the Bible. Ezekiel is a trip. Keep worship weird, that's what I say. He's also so full of hope you can practically drown in it.

The Book of Jeremiah has some of the sweetest, brightest Gospel in the Old Testament—In fact, it's where we get the words "New Testament." This is the story of the most miserable prophet in the Bible giving us the greatest hope. Also, it contains everyone's favorite Bible verse (29:11) Pastor Frank will try not to completely ruin that one for you.

You need to be reminded of the Gospel, of grace. Otherwise, you'll slip back into feeling condemned all over again. There's a reason Christians are so fond of crosses—if you're following Jesus, there's one in your future. But it's what lays beyond the cross that really matters.
